She was born Oct. 30, 1891 in Miller County, Ark., and lived in Miller County for many years. She was a member of the College Hill Methodist Church, and was the widow of Dennis W. Slaton. Mrs. Slaton died at 9:45 p.m. Monday in a Longview, Texas hospital after a short illness.
Musically talented -- Could play piano and organ. She and Dennis had 8 children; 3 died and 5 raised to maturity.
