Benjamin F. Kinney, 87, Danville R.D.3, died at the Maple Crest Nursing Home Monday evening where he was admitted as a guest earlier in the day.
He was born in Iola, May 9, 1890, the son of the late Woodward and Evilena Kinney. His wife Bessie died in 1955.
Kinney was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ridgeville. He was a life member of the Moose of Danville. He was a secretary and treasurer of the West Hemlock Township Supervisors for 40 years and a tax collector of Hemlock Twp. For 32 years. Kinney also was a schoolteacher at the Sheeps School in Montour County. He was a superintendent of Columbia Hill Sunday School for many years. Kenney was the owner of the largest bee apiary in Danville area.
He is survived by two sons, Glen and Paul Kinney, both of Bloomsburg R.D.1; two daughters, Mrs. Guy (Audrey) Heller, Espy and Mrs. Vincent (Cleo) Pass, State College; a sister, Mrs. Rita Love, United Methodist Home, Lewisburg. Also surviving are eight grandsons and two great grandsons.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced be announced by the John J. Brady Funeral Home, Danville.

Funeral services will be held from the John J. Brady Funeral Home, Danville, at 2 p.m. on Thursday with his pastor, Rev. Marshall Grosball of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Burial will following in the Columbia Hill cemetery.
