Funeral services for Norman David McFerren, 79 of Marthaville, were Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Marthaville, Rev. Benjie Colvin and Rev. Richard Kaufman officiated. Interment followed at Marthaville Cemetery.

Mr. McFerren passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Willis-Knighton Bossier Hospital. He was born September 10, 1931 in Pleasant Hill, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mae McFerren; and a brother, Wayne McFerren.

He was a graduate of Northwestern State University, a veteran of the United States Army, and retired from ConAgra Foods with 37 years of service.

He was a deacon of Marthaville First Baptist Church, present Worshipful Master of Ajax Masonic Lodge #325 and Natchitoches Chapter #13 Order of the Eastern Star, where he was currently serving as Grand Representative of Illinois in Louisiana.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; two daughters and one son-in-law; son and daughter-in-law of Bossier City; brother and sister-in-law of Stonewall; and five grandchildren.

The family expresses gratitude to Dr. Michael Walton, Bossier City Fire Department and EMS, and the SICU staff at Willis-Knighton Bossier for their professional and compassionate service.

Services were under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
