Martha Thelma Dean Metcalf
Died: 04-26-2005 Martha Thelma Dean Metcalf, 71, of West Camellia Circle, Brandon, Fla., formerly of Greeneville, died Tuesday at her home after an extended battle with diabetes.
Mrs. Metcalf was a retired nurse.

In her earlier career, she worked at Greene Valley Developmental Center, Laughlin Memorial Hospital, and the former Greeneville Hospital.

After moving to Brandon in the 1980s, she worked at Life Concepts.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years: William Lloyd Metcalf; a son and daughter-in-law: Darrell and Nenita Metcalf of Temple Terrace, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Greg Snow of Tampa, Fla., and Starr and Mark Ottinger of Greeneville; two grandchildren: Daniel Ottinger of Greeneville and Leah Metcalf of Temple Terrace; a sister and two brothers and their spouses: Mildred Waldroup of Greeneville, Samuel Dale and Marie Dean of Clinton, and Don and Sharon Dean of Greeneville; her sisters-in-law and a brother-in law: Goldie Arwood, Guy and Ola Mae Metcalf, Marie Metcalf, and Patsy Ricker, all of Greeneville, and Margie Metcalf of Naselle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Bonnie Dean, and a sister, Velma "Irene" Bertoldi.

There will be a memorial service at her home church, Grace Temple Baptist, in Brandon. The Rev. Ruben Nance will officiate.

A memorial service will be held in Greeneville at a later date followed by a family interment service at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
