Lester W. Romines, 73, Battletown, died June 10, 2005, at his residence. He was born July 10, 1931, in Edmonton, the son of the late Carlos Winston Romines and Beulah Mae Carter Romines.
He was a member of the Cold Spring Baptist Church, Laborers International Union #576, Louisville, worked for Honey Crust Bakery in New Albany 1950-1959, worked at Riverside Stone Co. Battletown, 1959-1969, worked at Garst & Receiver Construction Co. 1969-1981. An on the job injury in 1981 left his disabled.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Phynelaphy Shaw.
Mr. Romines is survived by his wife, Geraldine Kellems Romines; 4 children, Gerald Wayne (Leslie) Romines, Louisville, Kathy (David W.) Luttrell, Brandenburg, Sharon (Steve) Roberts, Vine Grove; and Susan (Tony) Gray, Henderson; 3 brothers, Archie (Jo) Romines, Ekron, Oakley (Christine) Romines, Jamestown, Tenn. and Kenneth (Joyce) Romines, Shively; 2 aunts, Ruth Carter Rogerson and Willie Romines Spradlin; 8 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 14 from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Rev. Stewart Skaggs officiation Burial was in the Cap Anderson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Willie Luttrell, Deron Luttrell; Mason Pennington, Logan Gray, Channingj Duval and Tom Duval.
