Chesley Hidenoure, 47, Winslow sawmill operator was fatally
injured when he was struck by a falling tree while cutting
timber on Lee Creek at Devil's Den State Park yesterday.
Witnesses said a tree felled by Ridenoure struck another tree, causing the trunk to fly into the air and crush Ridenoure. Members of the timber cutting crew carried the injured man three miles on a improvised stretcher, then brought him to Fayetteville City Hospital by truck. He was pronounced dead on arrival. Winslow, the son of Elbert and Elizabeth Ridenoure. In addition to his parents he is survived by the widow, Mrs.
Mildred Ridenoure of the home; a son, James Earl of Fort Hood, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Cathy Burnett of Winslow,
Miss Sharon Ridenoure of the home and Mrs. Anita Spencer
of Elkins and Mrs. Diane Rickman of Winslow; three sisters,
Miss Inez Ridenoure of Winslow and Mrs. Erma Maylott
and Mrs. Ophelia Sakis of California and a brother, Elwood of California. Funeral will he announced by Nelson's Funeral Home
