James Robert Cannon was born October 10, 1882 at Missouri, the son of John H. Cannon and Mary Ann Kirkland Cannon. He was married to Emma Nevada Potts.
Mr. Cannon, 50, pioneer resident of this county, died Sunday evening at his home near here following a brief illness.
Surviving are the widow of the home; six daughters; Mrs. Lula Ketcher, of Yonkers; Mrs. Lola Edwards of Wagoner; and Thelma, Mary, Vesta Buena, Kathryn, and Loney of the home; two sons, Edward and Olney Cannon of the home. Also, six brothers; Marvin, of Wagoner, Bessie and Henry, of Yonkers, GC of Hot Springs, New Mexico; Tom, of Hales Center, Texas, and Lum, of Wasco, California; and one sister; Mrs. Maude Duncan, of Inola. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
