Obituary

Joseph Pavelka Sr. was born in Czerhslovakia (sic) March 27, 1855. Died December 12, 1920, aged 65 years, 8 months and 16 days.

The deceased was married to Miss Francis Zidek, February 26, 1878. Soon after said marriage, he departed from his native land and moved to America making his home in this part of the country of his adoption, ever since, and becoming one of this country's most loyal and conscientious citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Francis Pavelka, two daughters — Annie Kudrna and Marie Hubatka, and seven sons— John, Joseph, James, Frank, Anton, Charles and Ralph Pavelka. One son— Lewis, died in infancy.

The deceased is also survived by four brothers and three sisters— one brother having preceded him in death.

The funeral services were held Tuesday December 14, at the family residence in Bladen, Rev. Lewis of Blue Hill conducting the service. At the appointed hour, 2 o’clock, a large concourse of people assembled to pay their last sad respects to the memory of the departed man, following which they escorted the body to the Bladen cemetery, where interment was made.
