Capt. Samuel Peck served in the Continental Army, 10th Co, commissioned May 1, 1775 and discharged December, 1775. He re-enlisted in 1776. He was then in the Fifth Battalion, Wadsworth's Brigade, under Col. William Douglas, Third Co (the same company as my ancestor, ISAAC DICKERMAN) raised to reinforce Washington's army in New York. They were at Kip's Bay, 34th St., on the East River, at the time of the enemy's attack on New York on September 15 and were forced to retreat hurriedly. His term expired on Dec. 25, 1776. His son, Michael Peck also served in the Rev. War.
His name is on the plaque in the Milford Cemetery shown at right of the Men who served in the Revolution.
