Grace Augusta Wallace, 102, of Moline, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at First Christian Church, Moline. Burial will be at Rock River View Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may go to the First Christian Church of Moline or to the new Moline Public Library.
Grace Augusta Meyer was born in Moline, on Jan. 23, 1906, to Henry and Mathilda Miller Meyer. She married Carl Franklin Wallace on Sept. 16, 1925, in Moline. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1970.
Grace was a homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Church in Moline; she was past superintendent of the Seniors Department and the choir; the president of C.W.F.; a member of Loyal Married People Class; a member of Nell C Soderstrom Circle of King's Daughters; and had delivered Meals-On-Wheels for 15 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Nelson, Moline; two sons, Don Wallace, Charleston, S.C., and Terence Wallace, Kalamazoo, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
