Rose was the wife of the Pilgrim's hired strongman Myles Standish. Some have speculated that she was the cousin of Myles, which was not uncommon back then, but nothing has been proven. She died January 29, 1621. Shortly after her death, Myles began courting the 17 year old Priscilla Mullins, but inevitably married a woman named Barbara (maiden name unknown) about 1623. It seems unlikely that Rose ever bore any children and may have been quite young at the time of her death.
