Graveside services for Alice Fay Horn buried in an unmarked grave for nearly 44 years, were held March 27, 1976, at the pasture near the Dwight Baltensperger residence, which is 12 miles south of Kimball, Nebraska. She was the infant daughter of Clarence (Stubby) and Lilly Horn of Kimbal.
Alice Faye was the sixth child of Mr and Mrs Horn. She was born and died April 28, 1932, and was buried by her family in a pasture near the family home. The Horn family lived in Kimball County from 1925 until 1936 when they moved to Elgin, Oregon. There were 12 children in the family.
The Mile Hi 4-H club organized the services as one of the Club,s Bicentennial projects, and contacted members of the family.
Mrs. Lorene Horn Erickson, sister of the baby , and her sone Ed Erickson, of Elgin attended the services. They delivered the stone for the grave, which was provided by all of the brothers and sisters. Mrs Anna Southard of Dix, Nebraska, aunt of Alice Fay, also attended the services officiated by the Rev. Floyd Woodard of the Kimball Oak Baptist Church.
The grave was originally marked only by piece of native sandstone rock along a fence row.
