Daughter of early Los Angeles pioneer and lumber magnate, William Hayes Perry. She became an accomplished opera singer beloved by all local citizens in the 1880's and 1890's. Married Charles Wood aka Carlo Modini-Wood, also a musical persona. Mamie's daughter, Elizabeth Marie Wood, married James Langford Stack and was mother of actor Robert Stack. Another of Mamie's daughters, Mona Chapman Wood married Richard Bonelli, famous baritone opera singer. Mamie Perry Wood and Carlo Modini-Wood are together for enternity with their remains resting in a bronze art deco style urn in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn cemetery.
