Gertrude Jamma, 74, Pierz, died Sunday at St. Mary's Villa in Pierz. A funeral is planned for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Pierz with the Rev. Alfred Heltemes officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald and Roger Marshik, John and Bob Tax, Greg and Ronald Gangl. Honorary bearers will be: Evelyn Litke, Rose Eller, Betty Weber, Regina Poser, Olivia Meyer, and Bernadine Faust.
Jamma was born Sept. 3, 1906 to the late John and Sophie Tax in Union Hill, Minn. She married Frank Jamma Aug. 23, 1929 in Pierz. (Frank died June 18, 1937). She worked for Pierz Sanitary Bakery for about 30 years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of Pierz.
Surviors include two daughters: Mrs. John (Celeste) Thell, Willmar and Mrs. John (Doris) Quinn, St. Paul; three sisters: Mrs. Anthony (Celia) Marshik, Pierz; Mrs. Woody (Marie) Roberts, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Mrs. Frank (Angeline) Gangl, Pierz.
