"Mary Bell Charlton: Funeral service for Mary Bell Charlton was held Monday, March 26, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bergh Chapel in Oroville, with Pastor Jim Rounds officiating. Interment followed in the Oroville Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Peterson, Bob Reese, Bill Allen, Ed Rounds, Jim Meese and Mike Jennings. Honorary pallbearers were John Kelly, Gene Harnasch and Forry Boyer.
Mary Bell Jennings was born February 4, 1910 at Brown Branch, Missouri. where she grew up and attended school. She later moved to Springfield, Missouri where she married Wilbur "Tink" Allen. The family continued to make their home in Springfield until 1938 when they moved to Oroville, Washington. During her many years in Oroville Mary worked for various apple warehouses. Her husband, "Tink", passed away in 1964 and in June of 1966 she was married to Ralph Charlton in Oroville. They made their home at Okanogan where Ralph passed away in 1970. Following his death, Mary returned to Oroville to be near her daughters.
She passed away at the age of 74 on Thursday, March 22, 1984 at the North Valley Hospital in Tonasket. She was a member of the Oroville Country Church and the Oroville Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Allen of Wenatchee and Harold Allen of Puyallup; two daughters, Dorothy Yusep and Margaret Peterson, both of Oroville; one stepson, Ralph Charlton of Okanogan; one stepdaughter, Lee Manion, also of Okanogan; one brother, Delbert Jennings, Oroville; also 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Those wishing to give memorials are asked to donate to the North Valley Nursing Home in Tonasket.
