Garland H. Church, 76, of Appleton, died Monday, January 24, 2005, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

A son of the late Larkin Jones "Lark" and Ola Tennessee Mathis Church, he was born October 21, 1928 in Retta, Arkansas. He was a farmer, a Jehovah's Witness, and was a very generous, giving man. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Church Arnett, and three brothers, John W., J. D. and George Church.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Sarah R. Church; four daughters and two sons-in-law; Glenda McConnell, Margie and Don Freeman and Robbie and Frank Godfrey, all of Appleton; and Lisa Church of the home; a sister, Evelyn Cothren of Jerusalem; six grandchildren: Misty McConnell, Justin Freeman and Kristen Godfrey all of Appleton; Matthew and Timothy Kisling, both of Mt. George; and Josh Freeman of Conway; and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside service and burial is 10 a.m., Thursday at the Forks of the Creek Cemetery near Hector by Mr. Kenneth Morphis. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Services.

Active pallbearers will be Verlin Pruitt, Louis Mathis, Jerry Branch, Jerry McCuin, Bernel Reid and Willard Crow.
