MR. JACOB BOWMAN

Mr. Jacob Bowman, one of the best known and most esteemed citizens of this county, died at his home near Arbor Hill on Friday about noon, aged about 66 years, after a long illness. He was a good neighbor, and his death will be a great loss to the whole community in which he resided. The funeral took place on Sunday morning from Mt. Tabor church, and a large concourse of relatives and friends were present to pay the last tribute to one that was loved by all. He is survived by his wife and seven children, Messrs. John H. and J.J. Bowman of the county; Messrs. C.P. and L.L. Bowman, of this city, and Mrs. N.W. Bosserman, Mrs. G.G. Hanger, and Mrs. W.A. McComb, also by four sisters and one brother, Mrs. G. Lewis Dull, of Winston, N.C., Mrs. W.C. Bosserman, Mrs. Geo. Miller, and Miss A.E.C. Bowman of the county, and Mr. James F. Bowman, of this city.

The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Jos. H. Clemmer, Edward Alexander, J.J. Shuey, E.J. Wayland, H.M. Clemmer, John M. Baylor, T.C. Craig, W.C. Bosserman and Adam H. Baylor.
