Services for Herbert "Zeke" Burda, 88, of 1711 Alcoa Ave., Bettendorf, will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Runge Chapel. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
Visitation is 3 to 5 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, when a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Burda died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital.
He retired in 1960 as a switchman for the D.R.&I. Line Railroad, where he had been employed 48 years.
Mr. Burda married Dorothy Alger in 1916 in Davenport. He married Dorothy Kelley in 1931. She died in 1968.
He was an active sportsman and played semi-professional baseball with the former Bettendorf Bears.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport, and a life member of East Davenport Turners.
Survivors include sons, Jacque and Bill, both of Bettendorf, and Keith, Wills Point, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy John, San Diego.
