Byron R. Heavenridge
EATON, Ohio-Bryon R. "Barney" Heavenridge, 75, 3442 Concord-Fairhaven Road, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., after a short illness.
He was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Camden to Lester and Myrtle Morrow Heavenridge, and had lived in Centerville, Ind., and Abington Ind., most of his life before moving to Preble County in November 1996.
He formerly worked at Richmond Casket Co. A carpenter, he worked on the restoration of the Gaar Mansion. He formerly worked for Absocold Corp., and retired from Sanyo Corp.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he attended Concord United Church of Christ in Preble County.
He was a former member of the Diamond L Saddle Club, Wayne County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol and Indio Friends Camping Club.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Heavenridge; a daughter, Jennifer Kircher of Eaton; a son, James Havenridge of Eaton; a granddaughter and two great great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 2 p.m. (Indiana time) Sunday at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Chapel, Richmond, Ind. The Rev. Richard Van Tine will officiate.
Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. (Indiana time) Sunday at the funeral home.
