Shirley B. Watkins, 70, a native of Houma and resident of Lafayette before moving to Baton Rouge, departed earth to eternal rest at Landmark of Baton Rouge Nursing Home following a short battle with cancer at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Visitation was at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word was at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by her devoted children, Mark Anthony Hebert and wife, Ramona, of Baton Rouge and Melissa Rhodes and husband, Jimmy, of Lafayette; grandsons, Dusty Russ, Corey Hebert, James Hebert and wife, Cassie, and Troy Bourgeois and wife, Shannon; granddaughters, Dana Fontenot and husband, Andrew, Connie Bourgeois and Stacy Hebert, wife of Paul Hebert who is deceased; 15 great-grandchildren, Alex, Heavan, Kaidyn, Jayce, Kalib, Christopher, Emily, Shelby, Brier, Gracie, Lathan, Reiden, Karl, Donovan and Braddik; and a host of friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Watkins, Aubrey Russ Jr. and Service Paul Hebert Jr.; one son, Clark Joseph Russ; one grandson, Paul Anthony Hebert; and her father and mother, Ernest and Olivia Babin.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the staff of Landmark of Baton Rouge for all their kindness, support and care shown until the time of her death.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hebert, Corey Hebert, James Hebert, Dusty Russ, Broc Bergeaux and Mike Howard.
