Carol Clawson passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2008 at CareSource Hospice in Holladay, Utah after a courageous 44 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.


She was born August 21, 1936 in Pocatello, Idaho, the oldest child of Vinal and Helen Curtis. She married her eternal sweetheart on August 25, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Her beloved husband, Don, returned to prepare her heavenly home on January 13, 2006. Carol's greatest joy was her family. She loved them with all her heart. Carol enjoyed camping (especially family reunions), cooking, and serving others. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities including serving a mission with her husband in the South Dakota, Rapid City Mission from 1996-1997.


She was survived by her brothers, Ron (Lydia), and Paul (Sandra), sister Terri (Clair) Zaugg, sister-in-law Terry Clawson, children Curt (Kaylene), Reed (Ranae), Ron (Marci), Chris (Lori), 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.


Friends and Family attended a Viewing on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Memorial Estates Mortuary located at 5850 South 900 East in Murray, Utah. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Sandy Midvalley Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 1106 East 8055 South in Sandy, Utah. Friends and Family attended a Viewing one hour prior to the services at the Stake Center.
Carol was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah beside her beloved husband.
