Services for Juanita Baker Boyd will be 1 p.m. Monday at Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

She was born Jan 4, 1909, to Brack and Gertie Simpson Baker on a farm in southwestern Oklahoma, the youngest of seven children, who have preceded her in death: Jesse Baker, Lee Baker, Earl Baker, Joe Baker, Pearlie Baker Herring and Lou Baker Wiginton.

She and Paul S. Boyd, the great love of her life, were happily married on Aug. 28, 1926, at Altus. They lived at Altus most of their married life, and in Fort Worth, Texas, before retiring in Ardmore.

She had a fun spirit, enjoying people. She excelled at whatever she did, including scoring 100 points in a high school basketball game and learning to sew at age 12. She made beautiful clothing, including all her wool coats and suits. It was her favorite interest. She was also known for her good cooking as were all the previous generations of her family. She was proud of her 20-year nursing career at Fort Worth Harris Hospital.

She was a member of Ardmore's First Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, and their only child, Nita Paul Boyd Richards, named after both of them, and by her caring son-in-law, Charley Richards; her beloved grandchildren, Charles Richards Jr., Ardmore, and Kay Lynn Richards Krotzer and her husband, Karl, Cleveland; and her great-grandchildren, Kyle Krotzer, Grant Krotzer and Caden Krotzer, all Cleveland.

We rejoice that, according to God's Holy Word, she is joyfully reunited with her parents, brothers and sisters, who were the joy and happiness of her life.

We are so very thankful to God that He allowed this so devoted and so in-love couple to remain together for an amazing 79 years of so great a love.
