Wilford N. Woods grew up in Tennessee, and moved to Texas as a young man. He met Cecil Boatner Ragland in Texas and they were married between 1910 and 1913. They had at least one child born in 1917, Wilford N. Woods Jr. Sr. worked as a mechanic for the Ford Motor Company in Dallas Texas, and later owned his own auto repair shop in Lubbock Texas. He registered for the WW I Draft in Dallas. By 1930, he and his family moved to Park County, CO where he was a stock raiser.
