J.L. PARRISH HAS BEEN CALLED BEYOND
At 2:30 tuesday morning, at his home on Crescent Ave., J.L. Parrish passed into the great beyond. He was stricken with pneumonia nine days ago, and very little hope of his recovery was ever entertained by the physicians.
Sunday afternoon his condition was such as to leave no hope whatever, and his brothers and sisters were notified by wire. They immediately left their homes in Canyon City.
On account of poor railroad connections, they will not reach here till Wednesday night. Until they arrive definite arrangements for the funeral will not be made, though it is almost certain that the body will be buried here, the funeral ceremonies being conducted by the B.P.O.E.
Mr. Parrish was born in Canyon City forty-three years ago. He was a member of the Baker Lodge B.P.O.E. and the Canyon City Lodge of B.P.O.E.
He came to Klamath Falls about 8 years ago taking a position as clerk at the American hotel. Later he held a position on the local police force, resigning from the force to accept a position with the Klamath Falls Roller Mills. At the time of his illness he was employed by Gerry Cozad.
He was an honorable, upright and straight-forward sort of man, with a host of friends here and in Canyon City. He leaves a wife, two brothers, Sam and Charley Parrish, and two sisters, Mrs. George Hagney and Mrs. Emma Gowan. Mrs. Gowan lives at Burns, Oregon, the other sister and brothers living at Canyon City.
