BONNIE L. SHANE, 81, of Arkadelphia, AR, and former Winfield, Kansas resident, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008.
She was born on September 4, 1926 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Elzic and Lillie Drake Gaston. She was a bookkeeper for the State Bank in Winfield for twenty-five years, resided in Winfield for forty years, moving to the Shell Knob, Missouri area after retirement.

Mrs. Shane and her husband, Edgar loved camping, the Table Rock Lake area, their family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After her husband's death in 2004, she moved to Arkadelphia, Arkansas where she became a member of the Hollywood United Methodist Church and was active with her church family.

Survivors include: Her daughter: Joyce Lea Van den Berghe and her husband, Bob of Arkadelphia, AR; Her son: Michael Shane and his wife, Debbie of Derby, KS; Her sister: Betty Adams of Woodward, OK; Five grandchildren: Lisa Drouhard, Kendra Hauber and husband Robert, Wade Chapman, Ryan Chapman and wife Jessie, and Jennifer Peterman and husband, Chris; Two step-grandchildren: Greg Van den Berghe and wife Jennifer, and Melissa Huff and husband Tony; and Twelve great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Shane and a daughter, Ronnie Hamilton on March 21, 2008.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service with Reverend Debbie Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Hollywood United Methodist Church in Hollywood, Arkansas. Arkansas arrangements are by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia, AR and local arrangements are by Miles Funeral Service.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Hollywood United Methodist Church c/o Carolyn McAnally, 1381 Hwy 26 West, Arkadelphia, AR, 71923. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
