J.H. Barnett was born in Shelby county, Ohio, Feb. 4, 1831. He died at his home near Haystack, September 21, 1904. Mr. Barnett came to Oregon in 1851, settling in the Willamette Valley, thence he moved to Crook county in 1882. He was converted to Christ and became a member of His church over fifty years ago, and lived an exemplary Christian life. The immediate cause of his death was an acute attack of cryslpelas [?] The funeral took place from the residence September 21, Rev. C.A. Sias, pastor of the Christian Church of this city, performing the ceremony.
