Death Takes Mrs.
Julia Pankey, 85;
Funeral Sunday
Mrs. Julia Pankey, 85, widow of Thomas Pankey. whose death occurred in 1924, died early this morning at her home, 24 Virginia avenue. She had been failing in health for about two years, but was seriously ill for only three days, suffering with the infirmities of age.
She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Carlotta(Charlotte) Rice and was born in Brushy township, where she lived most of her life moving to Harrisburg about 20 years ago.
She was the mother of Lena Pankey; who lives at home, Mrs. Dollie Farmer, St. Louis; Jesse Pankey, Christopher, William Pankey, and Mrs. Minnie Riegel, Harrisburg RFD 1. Also surviving are Miss Laura Rice, a sister, living in Carrier Mills; a brother, Lemuel Rice, Marion; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A son, Robert W. Pankey, preceded her in death in 1924(1947).
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bankston Fork church of which she was a member. The Rev. Cloid Wesley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Ammon, Carrier Mills, and the Rev. G. E. Slavens, Galatia. Burial will be in the adjoining family cemetery.
