According to Forsyth family records, Benjamin Bryant Forsyth, in 22 April 1852, traveled in a ox drawn covered wagon with his older sister and brother in law, Sara Phillips Forsyth and Henry Clay Miser, from Benton County, Arkansas to Sacramento, California, arriving in 8 October, 1852. Benjamin was the son of William Barnett "Barney" Forsyth and after residing in Sacramento and Marin Counties, he then moved to Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California and there resided until his death in 1922.
