Born in Markton August 15, 1851, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thomas, she was united in marriage to Joseph Burkett when a young woman. She was a member of U.U.R. Church and active in the social and religious work in Markton and was held in high esteem, her death being sincerely mourned. She was visiting her daughter in Akron when her death occurred.
The following sons and daughters survives: Larry and Abe Burkett, of Anita, Godfrey, of Dayton, Mrs. ? and Mell Burkett, of Markton; Mrs. Nora Icher, of Dayton; Mrs. Mary Miller, of Covode; and one half-brother, Samuel Frederick, of Sprankle Mills.
Funeral services will be held in the Markton U. R. Church Monday afternoon beginning at 2 o'clock with interment in the Markton Cemetery. The body will be in the Morrison Funeral Home until 1 o'clock Monday afternoon when it will be taken to the church.
