Marvin Glen Chamblee died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002 at his home in Sulphur, Louisiana. He was born on Jan.14, 1921 in Etoile, Texas to Marvin Stokes Chamblee and Gertrude Tera JACOBS Chamblee. Sometime after 1930, he relocated to Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana with his family. On Aug.30, 1941 he married Mary Frances ALLRED (born in Kentucky). They made their home in Sulphur, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana and had three children - two daughters and one son. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur.He was employed by Cameron Telephone Co. for 40 years. He had worked his way up to Vice President of Operations before retiring in 1985. Cameron Telephone Co. honored him by naming a fishing tournament after him - the Glen Chamblee Big Bass Tournament.
