Trilla was born to Newt and Minnie Lee Kirk Smith. She was one of ten living children. She married Thomas Albert Teague and seven children were born of that union. Children are Gene, Wade, Vada, Veda, Pauline, Jimmie, and Gracia Marie. Albert passed away in 1971 and later Trilla married Elmer Boatright. Elmer passed away just a few short months after Trilla and both chose to be buried with their first spouses. Trilla was preceded in death by sisters Lucy Holmes, Vida Bruno, and Pansy Hittson.
