Willie L. Starnes, 89, widower of the late Lois Outz Starnes, formerly of 36 Smythe St., Belton, died February 29, 2008 at White Oak Manor of Rock Hill, SC.

Born June 22, 1918 in Pauline, SC, he was the son of the late Bobo Minter and Effie Mae Brady Starnes.

He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Williamston, SC and Masonic Lodge 130, Shriner.

Surviving are: son, Willie Starnes, Jr. of Spring TX; daughters, Effie Mae Medlin of Clinton, SC, Pat Stryker of Richmond, VA and Ellen Walters of Catawba SC; stepchildren, Ron Driggers of Latrobe PA, Judy Wiggins of Summerville, SC and Patricia Driggers of Pawleys Island, SC; brother, James Starnes of Hartwell GA.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tolly Starnes, Leonard Starnes, Lawrence Starnes and sister Virginia Carson.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Clinton, SC.
