Born in the village of Engine, to Reuben Franklin Sharpe [sic] and wife, Sarah Amanda Jackson. His grandfather was a soldier in the Confederate Army and was killed at the siege of Vicksburg. Mr. Sharpe attended the rural schools of Neshoba County, and became a student in the Macon and Andrews Business College, Meridian, graduating there in October 1905. His occupations were teaching and bookkeeping. November 18, 1906 he married Lola Clare Whitaker, at Neshoba, daughter of John William and Narcissa Ann Whitaker. In 1908 the couples children were twin boys, Andrew Malvin and Henry Alvin, born in October 1907. November 5, 1907 he was elected to the House of Representatives for Neshoba County. A term that began in January 1908.
