Hermiston-- Graveside services for James "Carl" Hall will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Mr. Hall, 83, of Hermiston, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston.
James Carl Hall was born Aug. 7, 1914, at Prineville,Or. to Alfred Arthur and Katie H. Smith Hall. The family moved to Hermiston when he was 2 years old. He grew up in Hermiston and attended schools there.
On May 21, 1934, he married Ruth Alice Nunn at Walla Walla.
Mr. Hall was self-employed for a good portion of his life, working as an automobile mechanic at Carl's Automotive. He had also worked at Ordnance and for Lamb Weston, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Hermiston Church of Christ, Hermiston Elks, and Hermiston Eagles lodges.
Mr. Hall enjoyed antique car restoration, going for drives, and the coast.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hall, in 1991 and a brother, Edward Hall in 1985.
Survivors include his children, Carla Howard, Barbara Horn, and Jim Hall, all of Hermiston, and Ed Hall of Pendleton; a sister, Dorothy Shild of Milton-Freewater;
13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
