News of the death of Mrs. J.B. Mason of Klamath Falls, last evening is causing much grief throughout the city today.
Mrs. Mason who has resided here, with her husband and part of her children the last twelve years, has been very prominent in the church and charitable works here of the city, and her passing will leave a vacancy that will long be noticeable. She had been a leader in the work at the First Presbyterian church for many years.
The deceased was ill for less than a week, an attack of the grippe seized her last Monday and was followed soon by pneumonia. She passed away peacefully at 10:45 last night at her home on Ninth and High streets.
Mrs. Ellen Mason, was 69 years of age last April. She was born in Bartholomew county, Indiana and came here 12 years ago. Forty nine years ago she married her childhood friend J.B. Mason.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Will & Bruce Mason of this city, Mrs. Minnie Faught, Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Lena Pease, Evanston, Illinois. Three sisters and one brother are also living. Mrs. Faught is expected to arrive tonight.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow.
