Fred Floyd Laid to Rest
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Friday, June 26 at the Bridgeport Methodist church for Frederick Leland Floyd, 38, of Bridgeport who died in the VA hospital in Spokane on June 23.
Rev. Robert Wineman officiated at the service and interment was in the Bridgeport cemetery. Barnes Funeral home was in charge.
Floyd was born January 7, 1921 at Ellensburg. He married Daphyn Graham at Wapato on May 12. 1943.
He grew up at Harrah, Wash., but lived at Wapato after World War II. He was a veteran of that conflict.
From Wapato, Floyd moved to the Columbia basin and in 1958, he moved to Bridgeport to work with the Bureau of Reclamation.
The Bridgeport American Legion post of which he was a member conducted the graveside services. He was also a member of 40 et 8 and belonged to the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, Daphyn, daughter Louana, sons Howard Lee and Edward Ray, at the homd; six brothers, Al of Quincy, Warren and John of Othello, Frank and Earnie in California and Jim of Gold Beach, Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Robinson of Olympia, Mrs. Harriet George, Merritt, and Mrs. Ed. Ashmead of Wisconsin; his father, H. S. Floyd of Merritt.
