Elizabeth Pat Baker, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Fort Worth, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ridglea United Methodist Church, the Rev. Danny Tenney will officiate. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Staff members of JPS Hospital will serve as pallbearers.
Elizabeth Pat Baker was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Fort Worth, daughter of the late Evelyn Hussey and Robert Glynn Baker, M.D. A graduate of Arlington Heights High School, she earned degrees from TCU and JPS School of Nursing.
At JPS, Pat served as surgical supervisor for the first 20 years of her nursing career and infection controller for the last 20 years of her service, retiring in 1990. She continued working as a volunteer at the medical library at JPS until last month.
Pat served on various boards and committees as an active and contributing member of Ridglea United Methodist Church. She was the pantry coordinator at Westaid Food Pantry until she died.
Survivors: Sister, Beebee Baker Harrison; niece, Brooke Shannon and her husband, Jim; great-nephews, Liam and Evan Shannon; cousins; and extended-family members.
