Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Schreier); dearest father of Lyn (John) Coburn, Sue (Ed) Bertram, Nancy Korff, Mark Bockius, Judy (John) Nettler, David (Theresa) Bockius and Donald (Donna) Bockius; dear grandfather of 23; great-grandfather of 3; dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many. Gene served as a proud member of the United States Marines Corps in WWII and received the Purple Heart. Member of American Legion Post 300, employed at Niebling Auto Repair for 43 years and member of the BITOA's.
Son of Eugene F. and Marie K. (Raining) Bockius. Brother of Marie and Eugenia.
Married Marilyn Schreier in April, 1948.

Suffered a bayonet thrust wound of his left hand during combat in the Marshall Islands, his parents, who have been informed. Pvt. Bockius, 18, enlisted last June while a student at St. Louis University High School.

Marine Pfc. Eugene F. Bockius Jr., 19, has received the Purple Heart for wounds suffered on Guam and Eniwetok islands. The presentation was made in a ceremony recently at Great Lakes (Ill.) Navel Training Station, where he is now stationed. His parents live at 5066A Winona avenue.
