He worked for the Railway Mail Service most of his working career. Harry had the most beautiful handwriting and would often address (in longhand) event invitations for family and friends.
As a member of the local Denver Elks lodge, he promoted local boxing matches during the 1940's and early 1950's.
He would often scare the grandchildren by removing his upper partial dental plate and show it to them.

DENVER ELKS NAME HARRY M. FINESLIVER
NEW EXALTED RULER
Harry M. Finesliver was chosen exalted ruler of the Denver Lodge #17, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks at its annual meeting, Thursday night. He succeeds William A. Black.
All the new officers will be installed April 8.
NOTE:
The Golden Jubilee Convention of the national B.P.O.E. was hosted in Denver in 1937 so Harry Finesilver's position was important to the Denver chapter in this particular year.
