Jennie Mae, daughter of James and Mattie (Keeton) Rigney, graced this earth for a very short time, leaving to join the angels on Feb. 17, 1901. During her short life the family lived near Cordell, Washita County, OK.

The grieving parents, who had buried a son a few weeks earlier, placed her body next to that of her brother in Sod Cemetery, northwest of Cordell, Washita County, OK. Surviving were her parents, a sister, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

The headstone, placed many years later, was handmade by a nephew of Jennie, and the site was chosen from memory by her sister, Pearl.
