One of four daughters -- the others were Carrie, Anna and Josie -- born near Cold Point, PA, where her parents ran a small store. Elizabeth Styer Lysinger worked at a stocking factory at the foot of Marshall Street in Norristown, PA before marrying Frederick Woerner Pester of Norristown, PA, on June 30, 1915. They had two daughters who survived to become adults, Anna Pester Brown (mother of grandchildren Kenneth, Jr, Peggy, Fred, Bob and Elizabeth) and Mildred Pester MacMichael-Taylor (grandchildren John, Roberta, Barbara Jeanne, and Edward, Jr.). A third daughter (Helen) died as an infant, possibly in the flu epidemic of 1918-20. Elizabeth was a housewife, mother, and assistant to husband in running family butcher shop, and long time member of Calvary Baptist Church congregation and Order of Eastern Star (Masonic auxiliary).
Her mother, Willieann Lysinger, is buried in Cold Point Baptist Church Cemetery, about five miles from Norristown, as is her father, Hugh.
