Mary Jane, daughter of Margaret and William Muncrief, was born at Fort Arbuckle, Indian Territory and departed this life at 9:35 a.m., Tuesday June 16, 1947, being the last survivor of a family of eleven children. In early childhood she moved with her parents to what is now the present site of Pauls Valley and from there to north of Ninnekah in 1870 where her parents ran a stage stand..
She married M.A. McDonald and moved to southeast of Rush Springs, on Rush Creek in 1884 whey they lived until they moved to Rush Springs in 1892.
To this union was born two children: Canales who preceded her in death in 1929, and Muir "Joe" McDonald. Mr McDonald (husband) preceded her in death in 1894.
In 1898, she was united in marriage with J.A. Slaton who preceded her in death in 1932.
