George B. McClellan, 72, of Champaign died January 8, 1993 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services were held January 11 at Heath and Sons Funeral Home, Champaign with burial in Mansfield cemetery.

Mr. McClellan was born May 26, 1920 at Monticello a s/o William E. and Ella Norris McClellan. He married Thelma W. Burton (1921-1989) January 23, 1941 at St Charles, MO. She died December 19, 1989. Survivors include three daughters: Rebecca J. Ragan, Farmer City; Mary Deak, Champaign; and Diana Bosserman of Buckhannon WVA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Versa Gregory and Stella Holstin, both of Monticello. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.

Mr. McClellan formerly was employed in the Operations and Maintenance Division at the University of Illinois and the Paradise Inn, Savoy. He was a former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Champaign.
