CANTON - Services for W. Ghlee Watson, 89, of 1062 E. Myrtle St., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be one hour before services.

He was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He died hours after he was involved in a car accident on Martin Luther King Drive near Hightower Street in Peoria.

The Rev. Keith Jones will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

Born June 9, 1911, in Smithfield to William and Vina Ann Martindale Elmer, he married Marian E. Ames on Nov. 02, 1946, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jim (and Anna) of Carriere, Miss.; one daughter, Lu Ann (and Peter) Arnold of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Watson; two brothers; and one sister.

He was the owner/operator of Ghlee Watson Trucking, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to his church.
