Son of Immer & Martha Ann (Pinkney) Beadle, husband of Huldah Elizabeth (Van Giesen) Beadle. He was a Justice of the Peace and presided over his daughter Nina's (Nancy Ann) wedding. He was active in the Banner Grange in Orleans Twp. and a member of the Ionia Lodge of Oddfellows. He was also a successful farmer.

Justus & Huldah had three stillborn children, a boy on 3-10-1871, a boy in 1879, & a girl on 2-15-1881. Their burials are unknown at this time. There were eight children total.

Immer R. Beadle, father of Justus, married Martha Ann Pinkney on April 8, 1839 in Ionia Co., MI. Their first child, Asa, was born there on June 30, 1840. Immer & Ann then moved back to Savannah, Wayne Co., NY, where they had 5 more children, including a set of twin boys, Justus & Justin. Their youngest child Charles was born in Jan. of 1847, and Immer died on Feb. 26, 1849 of consumption.

On Dec. 13, 1849 in Savannah, Wayne Co., NY, Ann Beadle (Martha Ann Pinkney Beadle) married Joseph Hurd. He was from Canandaigua, NY and she from Savannah, NY. In the 1850 Federal Census for NY, six Beadle children are listed with Joseph & Ann Hurd. Included is Justus, his older brother Asa, his twin brother Justin, his younger (and only) sister Mary, his younger brother George, and his youngest brother Charles. All were listed as living in Savannah, Wayne Co., NY. The Hurd family consisted of Joseph Hurd, Ann Hurd his second wife (widowed Martha Ann (Pinkney) Beadle), Mary Hurd (Joseph's daughter from his first marriage) & the six Beadle children.

After serving in the Civil War in Co. B of the 111th Reg. of the New York Infantry with his twin brother Justin, who died in the war, & his brother George who died at the end of the war, Justus moved back to Ionia Co., MI. He purchased farm land in Easton Twp. in 1864. He married Huldah Elizabeth Van Giesen on July 4, 1866 in Ionia Co., MI and lived the rest of his life there. In a short span of time Justus lost two brothers in the Civil War, and his sister and mother in 1866. His two remaining brothers, Asa & Charles, stayed in New York.

Justus died in Evart, MI, where his son Asa J. Beadle lived.
