Civil War Union Army Officer. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on October 7, 1861, and was mustered into Company D, 91st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Promoted to Captain on January 11, 1863, he was never mustered into that rank. He died of typhoid fever in the service of his country on December 18, 1863 at Bealton Station, Virginia.
