Colbert David Rice, 58, of Oliver Springs died July 13,2006 at his residence.
He was the son of Bill Wayne and Ruby Elizabeth Rice. He was a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include wife, Deborah Rice; son, Austin Lee Rice, both of Oliver Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Julya and Bob Johnson; grandson David Johnson, all of Knoxville; mother Ruby Rice of Westel; brothers Gary Rice of North Carolina, Mick Rice of Knoxville; and sister, Connie Kirkland od Harriman.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to any accredited hospice.
I did not know Mr. Rice but he was married to my cousin Patty for a little over a year before she died of lukemia. His family buried him next to her.
