Dakota - Services for Kenard D. Fisher, Sr, 88, will be Wednesday at 2 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Kadoka with the Rev. Gary McCubbin and the Rev. Eugene Bushnell officiating. Graveside rites will be at 1 pm Thursday in Vermillion.

The body will lie in state at the Woodall Chapel in Kadoka from Tuesday at 2 pm until noon Wednesday.

Fisher died at Rapid City Regional Hospital Friday. He was born at Vermillion Sept. 26, 1896, to Daniel and Barbara Fisher. He grew up in Vermillion and attended school there.

He married Elsie Marie Enders July 23, 1921, at Murdo. They farmed and ranched in Washabaugh County from 1915 until he moved into the Kadoka Care Center in March of 1984.

He was a member of the IOOF Lodge and of the Tri-State Cowboy Association at Gordon, Neb.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie, of Kadoka; three daughters, Dora E. Brown of Seattle, Wash., and Viola M. Olson and Elleen Heinsohn, both of Kadoka; two sons, Kenard of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Fred of Kadoka; six grandchildren; and give great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two half-sisters and one half-brother.

Woodall Funeral Home of Kadoka is in charge of arrangements.
