Shirley was a School teacher and taught in Erie, Ottawa and Sandusky Counties, 25yrs at the former Harris-Elmore Elementary in Elmore. she was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Elmore Chapter #306 then they merged with Perrysburg Chapter #446.
