W.M. Webb Buried
The funeral of W.M. Webb, 87 years old, who died suddenly Tuesday morning January 8, at the home of his son, George Webb, three miles East of Ocean Springs, was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the old Fort Bayou cemetery, the Reverend Baughn [Vaughn] and Reverand Walker being in charge of the services.
Mr. Webb was born in 1842. He served three years and seven months in the Confederate army, was a pioneer of Jackson county, a professional charcoal burner and farmer.
He leaves one brother, Dan Webb, and a sister, Lucinda King.
He also leaves six children by his second marriage, 12 children by his third marriage, 82 grand-children and eight great-grand-children besides a host of friends.
